Black Metal aus Frankreich Release 2025 »Hope… Believe… There is no safe place for you!«Große Dinge kündigen sich an mit dem Debüt der Franzosen OPPRESSION und so vehementem, wie facettenreichen und in der Tiefe wirkenden Black Metal der Sonderklasse!Als alte Freunde, die Konzerthallen und Bars durchstreiften, beschlossen G.S.V (Gesang) und Tom L (Gitarre), gemeinsam eine Band zu gründen, um die Komposition und Ausrichtung von Anfang bis Ende selbst bestimmen zu können. Gegenüber einer wachsenden Anzahl von Veröffentlichungen mit Ambient-Ausrichtung, wollten sie mit einem sehr geradlinigen Projekt den Ton angeben. Geschwindigkeit, Kraft und ein Hauch von Melodie (addiert mit etwas gesundem Hass) – so legten sie den Grundstein für OPPRESSION, zu denen sich schnell Predark (Gitarre) gesellte. Als die Komposition des ersten Albums bereits weit fortgeschritten war, holten sie sich für die Positionen am Schlagzeug und am Bass zwei bekannte Musiker aus der Bordeaux-Szene dazu, die Brüder John (Otargos, Lifestream) und Désert (Lifestream). Gemeinsam stellten sie ihr Debüt »No Safe Place« fertig – bereit, euch ohne Zurückhaltung zu treffen! Die Texte handeln hauptsächlich von Religion und ein wenig von Feststellungen zur gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung, nur im letzten Song geht es um Sex, Drogen und Rock’n’Roll (um nicht die wirklich wichtigen Dinge aus den Augen zu verlieren). Sowohl bei der Musik als auch bei den Texten ist es nicht OPPRESSIONs Intention, etwas Pompöses oder Bombastisches zu schaffen, sondern etwas Ehrliches, Direktes und Wirkungsvolles. – Hail the Oppression!Tracklist1.
