KAECK began in 2014 as a project consisting of members of various Dutch underground bands, most of whom started out in the early 90s. After the two albums “Stormkult” and “Het Zwarte Dictaat”, which were very well received by the scene, the third longplayer “Gruwelijk Onthaal” now stomps all hope of humanity into the dirt.
Oovenmeester's vocals growl and bite their way through seven tracks of pure filth. With the new drummer Frostbite, all optimism is shattered. R. Nillesen (formerly also drums) “only” plays the bass this time - the insane basslines and sounds he has created give this album a special dark note. - With dark, haunting keyboard sounds, hellishly heavy guitars, pounding bass and drums that extinguish all life, KAECK immortalize their darkest album with “Gruwelijk Onthaal”.
The intro “Het Huilend Altaar” (“The Weeping Altar”) is a thirty-second worship of KAECK by all band members in a fit of rage and hatred.
Oovenmeester: "The concept of the album involves the arrival of the terrible god Kaeck on earth. After telepathically instructing and forcing humans to form evil cults in preparation for his arrival, he crushes and subjugates them in a nightmarish existence of slavery. It is the beginning of the end of humanity."

Recorded at Sammath Bunker, Elten, Germany. Recording setup and mix: Marco Hartgers. Mastering: Peter Neuber. - The full, complete massive sound makes Kaeck sound like the end of the world.
"The cover artwork for ‘Gruwelijk Onthaal’ was handcrafted by Dylan Humphries in a woodcut style. After explaining the lyrical content of the album, Dylan was able to transform it into stunning art - we dare to say: the best album cover in extreme metal in recent years. Not content with just designing the front cover, Humphries also decided to turn the track list on the back cover into a masterpiece in the style of 16th century calligraphy. The lyrics of the album were also handwritten by Vinod. He has been active in the Netherlands for many years with his great calligraphy." (J. Kruitwagen)
